Privacy Policy

(Privacy inquiries: office@thechange.swiss)

We take the protection of your personal data seriously and treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with legal regulations. The use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data.

Currency Conversion

By using our website, you (the visitor) agree that third parties may process your IP address to determine your location for the purpose of currency conversion. You also agree that this currency is stored in a session cookie in your browser (a temporary cookie that is automatically removed when you close your browser). We do this so that the selected currency remains consistent while browsing our website, allowing prices to be converted into your (the visitor's) local currency.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to provide you with a better user experience. Cookies are small text files stored on your computer and saved by your browser. They cannot contain harmful code.

Hosting Provider and Server Log Files

The website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These include:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request

These data cannot be directly assigned to specific individuals. A merging of this data with other data sources does not take place. We reserve the right to review this data retrospectively if we become aware of concrete indications of illegal use. These data, as well as all data on this website, are stored with our hosting provider Shopify International Limited, Victoria Buildings, 1-2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland. The privacy policy of Shopify International Limited can be found here.

SSL Encryption

This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as inquiries you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the address line of the browser changing from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock icon in your browser bar. When SSL encryption is enabled, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Newsletter Data

If you would like to subscribe to our newsletter, we require your email address and your consent to receive the newsletter. We use this data exclusively for the Shipping of the newsletter. You may revoke your consent to the storage of your email address and its use for the Shipping of the newsletter at any time, for example via the 'Unsubscribe' link in the newsletter.

Registration for our newsletter is done through a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after registration, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary to ensure that no one can register with a foreign email address.

Newsletter registrations are logged so that we can prove that the registration process took place in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the registration and confirmation timestamps as well as the IP address.

Klaviyo

The Shipping of the newsletters is carried out using Klaviyo, a newsletter Shipping platform provided by the US provider Klaviyo Inc., 125 Summer Street, Boston, MA 02110, USA. Both the email addresses of our newsletter recipients and their other data described in these notes are stored on Klaviyo's servers in the USA. Klaviyo uses this information to Ship and analyze the newsletters on our behalf.

Furthermore, according to their own information, Klaviyo may use this data to optimize or improve their own services, for example, for the technical optimization of sending and displaying newsletters or for economic purposes to determine from which countries recipients come. However, Klaviyo does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to contact them directly or to pass it on to third parties. We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of Klaviyo. Klaviyo commits to complying with EU data protection regulations.

Additionally, we have concluded a "Data Processing Agreement" with Klaviyo. This is a contract in which Klaviyo commits to protecting our users' data, processing it on our behalf according to their own privacy policies, and especially not passing it on to third parties. You can view Klaviyo's privacy policy here.

Statistical Collection and Analysis

The newsletters contain a so-called web beacon, which is a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from Klaviyo's server when the newsletter is opened. During this retrieval, both technical information, such as browser and system information, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval, are collected. This information is used to technically improve the services—either through technical data or through analyses of target groups and their reading behavior based on retrieval locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times.

Statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened, and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients, but it is neither our intention nor Klaviyo's to monitor individual users. The evaluations serve to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content accordingly or to offer different content.

Cancellation / Revocation

You can cancel your subscription to our newsletter at any time, that is, revoke your consents. This simultaneously revokes your consents to the Shipping of the newsletter via Klaviyo and to the statistical analyses. It is not possible to separately revoke consent for the Shipping of the newsletter via Klaviyo and for the statistical analyses. You will find a link to unsubscribe from the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.

Legal Bases and Data Protection Regulation

In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applicable from May 25, 2018, we inform you that consent to the Shipping of the newsletters is given on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a and Art. 7 GDPR. The use of the Shipping service provider Klaviyo, the performance of statistical surveys and analyses, as well as the logging of the registration process, are based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our interest is in using a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves both our business interests and meets the expectations of users.

Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser within Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Browser Plug-In

You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software settings; however, we point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: Link. Further information on handling user data in Google Analytics can be found in Google's privacy policy: Link.

Demographic Features in Google Analytics

This website uses the "Demographic Features" function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be generated that contain statements about the age, gender, and interests of website visitors. These data come from interest-based advertising by Google and visitor data from third-party providers.

These data cannot be assigned to any specific person. You can disable this feature at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics.

Google Fonts

Google Fonts are used on this website. To our knowledge, no personal data is stored by Google in this context. For technical reasons, however, your IP address must be transmitted to Google so that the fonts can be delivered to your browser. More information from Google about Google Fonts can be found here.

Instagram

The data controller has integrated components of the Instagram service on this website. Instagram is a service that qualifies as an audiovisual platform and allows users to share photos and videos and also to further distribute such data on other social networks. The operating company of Instagram's services is Instagram LLC, 1 Hacker Way, Building 14, First Floor, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA.

Each time one of the individual pages of this website operated by the data controller is accessed and contains an Instagram component (Insta button), the internet browser on your information technology system is automatically prompted by the respective Instagram component to download a representation of the corresponding Instagram component. In this technical process, Instagram learns which specific subpage of our website you have visited. This information is collected by the Instagram component and assigned by Instagram to your Instagram account.
